Moderatorr is a music and audiovisual project of a singer, musician and composer Petr Opava. His style belongs to Industrial rock but it extends into many other genres. Moderatorr specifically follows up on the work of performers such as Ministry, Rammstein, Fear Factory, Rob Zombie, Nine Inch Nails or Oohmp! His work combines elements of electronic music, metal, ethno, trance, classical music and also rap. “I’ve always focused on a certain euphoria and ecstasy evoked by music. That’s why I write songs in such a way that they are such a trip,” says the singer.

Moderatorr is characterized by Opava’s throat singing, which is unique on the Czech scene and reminds of the production of the increasingly popular Mongolian folkrockers The HU.

Besides his own texts Moderatorr often based on the works of great poets. The single Violator is for example a poem of Johann Wolfgang Goethe, translated by Karel Jaromír Erben, which has been set to music. Furthermore, in the repertoire of the project occur for example the works of Jan Neruda, A. S. Pushkin or Orten.

Petr Opava (* 1975) is a Czech singer, actor, composer, instrumentalist and pedagogue, a graduate of the Prague Conservatory in the fields of singing and composition. He is known for performing in musicals such as Joan of Arc, Excalibur, Robin Hood, Mowgli and others. Since 2006 he has been collaborating with the RockOpera Theater in Prague, where he performs in twelve rock operas. In addition to the Moderatorr project, he specializes in music for children. He is the author of the successful fairy-tale musical O ptáku Ohniváku a lišce Ryšce. He is currently preparing another children’s musical and classical opera. Since 2007 he has been the bandleader of the folk band Jagabab, for which he also writes and processes historical and contemporary musical themes. As a teacher, he teaches piano at the Josef Lada Art School in Velké Popovice and singing at the RockOpera Prague Academy.
